Biogeographic distribution
M. longicarpus is mainly found on the Eastern coast of
Australia, from Northern Queensland, down the coast to Wilsons Promontory
National Park on the Southern coast of Victoria in estuaries, coastal and mangrove environments. It has also been found along
the coast of French Polynesian islands of the Pacific.
Red indicates areas where M. longicarpus has been described in the literature(Cameron, 1966; Davie, 2011; Poore, 2004). Please not this is a rough guide to distribution, for a more extensive guide please consult scientific literature and/ or relevant field guides.
